I can honestly say I was physically stunned when I read the news about Roger. Firstly my heartfelt condolences go out to Janet, Sean and Liam. My thoughts are also with Janet and Christine on your loss.
Roger was a table tennis genius and someone to be looked up to and admired. He came from good table tennis stock and I think Pat will relish a renewed father/son rematch up above.
Roger was a tough opponent but always had time to smile before, during and after a game. He would always be smiling when he played me as I was usually being given a lesson in how to play the game. Roger always had time for my two offspring as they started to play the game at Arundel Table Tennis Club.
His top spin loop was written about in folklore. It was unplayable at times.
I cannot believe your sense of timing with the Albion soaring high again. Roger Ginnaw taken from us far too soon.
